It is an indisputable fact that comic book fans love continuity. Continuity allows for a sense of growth for characters who have existed for the better part of a century while still allowing for them to retain the elements that keep characters iconic and beloved. However, not every continuity shift is destined to stick. For every shocking reveal that has become key to a franchise's history, there are a dozen that were quickly discarded.
