News that Mick O'Dwyer had died at the age of 88 was met with great sadness by GAA fans around the country on Thursday morning. Since the news broke there has been much written and spoken about his achievements, of which there are many. Naturally, most of the focus has been on his time as a player and manager with Kerry, winning a combined 12 All-Ireland titles - four as a player and another eight as manager from 1974 to 1989.

O’DONOVAN SEALS DOUBLE KIRBY TICKET AT LIMERICK Peter Farrell There was no fewer than four Con & Annie Kirby Trial Stakes up for grabs at Limerick Greyhound Stadium on Saturday night and Michael O’Donovan duly claimed two of those with Serene Highway and Stonepark King. It was Stonepark King who went quickest, not only in the trial stakes, but on the night as a whole as the impressive June puppy ran out a comprehensive winner of the A1 contest.
