James Glenday will take over from Michael Rowland as News Breakfast co-presenter in 2025. Catherine Murphy will replace Tony Armstrong as full-time sports presenter. Rowland's last day on News Breakfast will be Friday December13, with the full new line up starting on Monday January 20. James Glenday will switch from presenting the evening news in Canberra to early mornings on a couch in Melbourne as the new co-host of ABC News Breakfast in 2025.

Public transport advocates and a union say they warned Transport Canberra about problems with the MyWay+ ticketing system. Many passengers couldn't tap on or off when the system went live on Wednesday. Transport Minister Chris Steel says solutions are being rolled out and most customers can now use the ticketing system. Greens incumbent Laura Nuttall has won the fifth and final seat in the Tuggeranong-based electorate of Brindabella. The ABC's Chief Elections Analyst Antony Green called the seat late last night, after Ms Nuttall widened her lead over the Liberals' James Daniels to more than 300 votes. Her win means that Labor and the Greens will hold 14 of the 25 seats in the next ACT Legislative Assembly. The result also means long-serving Labor minister Mick Gentleman has lost his seat after 12 years in office.

Former Canberra junior doctor Betty Ge believes a $31.5 million settlement in a class action over unpaid overtime is as much a win for patients as it is for medicos. Dr Ge was one of the litigants in the case, which has paved the way for 2,200 junior doctors employed in the ACT over the past eight years to receive repayment for their unpaid overtime. The terms of the settlement are subject to final approval by the Federal Court, where it's expected to be considered later this year.

After years of debate that divided a community and sparked a court battle, a new location has been found to build a high school for the regional town of Bungendore. The NSW government has announced it will open a permanent high school on a 4-hectare greenfield site on Birchfield Drive in north Bungendore, just outside of Canberra, adjacent to new residential subdivisions.
