    Thursday afternoon Malcolm Fry and Marcos Dias of the New England Revolution visited Harmony Grove Elementary School in Framingham. The event was a part of the club’s “One Region, Many Roots” program which hosts clinics in different communities in the area. Many of the students at the school are Brazilian and Fry and Dias are both Portuguese speakers. Fry is from Groton, while Dias is from Brazil. The two players led a soccer skills clinic with the students and also fielded questions from them.

    The New England Revolution continue to round into form as spring sets in. Since the international break in mid-March, the club has won two of its three matches. The Revolution began the year without a win or goal scored by one of their players in the first four matches. Coach Caleb Porter sees the team’s first win against the Red Bulls on March 29 as an inflection point. “It was a bit of a turning point,” Porter said. “It was an important game for us to get our first win.

    Pathfinder softball won their third game in a row Thursday night, beating Commerce 13-1. Pitcher Kendra Burke shut things down from the circle, throwing a no-hitter for the Pioneers. Burke helped out her own cause at the plate, hitting an RBI triple in the contest. The biggest contributor at the plate for Pathfinder on Thursday was Emily McNeany. She finished with four RBIs, three runs, two walks, and a home run.

    Amherst girls lacrosse entered halftime against Hampshire Regional trailing by one goal Thursday night. That deficit though was swiftly overcome in the game’s latter action. In the second half, the Hurricanes (4-2) netted 12 goals to take down the Raiders (3-2) 15-5 in Amherst. The Hurricanes and goaltender Eden Polak held the Raiders to just one goal in the second half. Polak finished the contest with 16 saves. On the offensive side, Tsukiko Bhowmik led all players with five goals.

A ceremony will be held before Wednesday night’s Red Sox game against the Seattle Mariners. First pitch is set for 6:45 p.m.Catholic Memorial earned the honor a month ago, as they took down Saint John’s Shrewsbury 4-3 in the Div. I title game at TD Garden on Mar. 16.
