BROOKLINE – After yesterday’s pitching duel in Game 1, more of the same was expected in the middle game of a potential CAA championship preview, with Aiven Cabral on the bump for Northeastern. Cabral came into Saturday’s matchup with a 3.20 ERA and 48 strikeouts, best for 5th in the CAA. After getting into a jam in the first following a one-out double and a hit by pitch, he was able to find success with a 6-4-3 double play.

By the time Danny Crossen stepped into helping lead player development at Northeastern, he had already lived the full arc of a college baseball journey. For the second day in a row, Northeastern punched five home runs over the wall at Joe Nathan Field, this time en route to a decisive 13-5 victory over the Seawolves to claim their second CAA series. And for a team that struggled to find its offensive groove to start the season, the Huskies have had no trouble stomping out Stony Brook. Just like on Friday, Northeastern started the scoring with a solo home run off the bat of redshirt junior Harrison Feinberg.

BRIGHTON — If you watched this Northeastern team this week, you would have thought you were watching two totally different teams, as Boston College did not look back after scoring six runs in the first five innings in Wednesday’s matchup. A leadoff triple from Eagles’ center fielder Josiah Ragsdale in the first inning seemed to have set the tone on the Huskies pitching staff early, but starter Max Gitlin was able to recover well with five strikeouts through three frames.
