Key Points Tree-based scan statics (TBSS) are popular methods to identify unsuspected adverse effects of drugs or vaccines. TreeScan™ is a widely used standalone software that offers various TBSS. The software is available for free, but it is proprietary and closed-source. We provide an open-source R implementation of the most used TBSS methods, with accompanying tutorials.
