    On Nov. 14, Health Promotion Services and Period USFCA hosted a workshop titled  “Menstrual Health Celebration: Our Voices, Our Future.”. The event, which drew approximately 15 attendees to UC 503, invited students to discuss menstrual health openly as part of a larger effort to reduce period stigma through the Period Equity Project. The Period Equity Project is an ongoing initiative by the nonprofit organization The Period Movement, which began housing a USF chapter in August.

Former President Donald Trump reclaimed the White House against Vice President Kamala Harris and the Republican Party took control of Congress, gaining four seats in the Senate and two in the House of Representatives at the time of print.

    The University administration announced the membership of the Presidential Search Committee (PSC), which will search for and decide on candidates for the next university president. The PSC will be “composed of current and former trustees,” according to the email. The announcement came on Oct. 28, just over a month after the news of President Paul Fitzgerald, S.J.’s resignation. The PSC does not consist of any faculty, staff, students or alumni.

    This year, Bay Wheels, a Lyft-owned bike and e-bike share service that operates in cities around the Bay Area, has seen its largest usage spike since the pandemic. Users are able to find a bike station, a rack that holds the bicycles, unlock a bike with the Lyft app or their Clipper card, and ride it. Riders are charged by the minute, and are able to end their ride at any other bike station in the city.

    In our final issue released before the 2024 election, the Foghorn has compiled a guide to the Board of Supervisors elections taking place in USF student populated districts. The Board of Supervisors is a nonpartisan legislative body charged with serving and representing the citizens of San Francisco within their elected districts. According to GrowSF, the Board also “shapes policy on everything from housing and transit to the City’s budget.
