MANHATTAN, Kan. (WIBW) - A Manhattan bank was listed as the victim of a fraudulent debit-card purchase that amounted to a loss of thousands of dollars, officials announced Monday. Riley County police filed a report for theft and criminal use of a financial card around 10:26 a.m. Friday in the 700 block of Poyntz Avenue in Manhattan. The victim in the case was listed as Landmark National Bank.

TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - Free food will be available Tuesday morning in the capital city. A Harvesters mobile food distribution for people in need of food assistance will take place starting around 9 a.m. Tuesday in the east parking lot of the Stormont Vail Events Center, located near S.W. 19th Street and Topeka Boulevard. No identification or proof of eligibility is required to receive the food.

TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - A Shawnee County sheriff’s deputy clocked a car going 114 mph Thursday night in southwest Topeka. The speeding car was reported around 9:45 p.m. Thursday near the 3600 block of S.W. Wanamaker. According to a Shawnee County Sheriff’s Office Facebook post, “a deputy was running radar” in the area, following reporets of reports multiple injury crashes and complaints of speeders at that location.

TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - Officers were responding to a club early Friday on the northeast edge of Topeka. The units were at the Topeka Sports Cabaret at 4216 N.E. Seward Ave. as of 8:45 a.m. Friday. A 13 NEWS reporter at the scene said a number of law enforcement vehicles were in the parking lot of the business, including units from the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
