    SUBLETTE, Kan. (WIBW) - Four children were injured -- two seriously -- after a car and semitrailer collided earlyWednesday in Finney County in southwest Kansas, officials said. The collision was reported at 7:12 a.m. Wednesday on US-50 highway about three miles southwest of Sublette. According to the Kansas Highway Patrol’s online crash log, a 2009 Chrysler Sebring was northbound on Campus Drive when it began to make a left-hand turn onto westbound US-50.

(WIBW) - A fatal shooting Monday morning in the Highland Park area of East Topeka and a bank robbery that occurred minutes later on the southwest side of town were connected, officials announced Wednesday morning. The homicide was reported around 8:45 a.m. Monday at a two-story home at 2700 S.E. Minnesota Ave. Police on Wednesday morning identified the homicide victim as Kathleen Hayes, 40, of Topeka.

    TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - Police on Wednesday identified the city’s seventh homicide victim of 2025. The victim was identified as Kathleen Hayes, 40, of Topeka. Hayes was shot and killed following a disturbance around 8:45 a.m. Monday at a two-story yellow house at 2700 S.E. Minnesota Ave. in the Highland Park neighborhood of Topeka, officials said. Police officers responding to the scene found a woman who had died from her injuries.
