TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - The Shawnee County Board of Commissioners approved a few requests that would benefit the projects and funding of the Shawnee County Parks and Recreation Department. In February, Shawnee County Commissioners approved an initial $76,000 budget to repair some slides at the Shawnee North Aquatic Center, but crews discovered more structural issues as they started the repairs; some rusted bolts and deteriorated fiberglass.

The 2x Kansas Gatorade Player of the Year and State Track Champion won both the 3200m and 1600m at the 2025 KU Relays this weekend. LAWRENCE, Kan. (WIBW) - Kansas baseball took game one of the weekend series against Sunflower Showdown rival K-State on Friday night. A sold-out crowd was in attendance to cheer on both teams. The entire weekend series has been sold out, as this is the most anticipated matchup between the two in-state rivals in a long time. K-State took a 3-0 lead by the end of the third inning.
