After tense back and forth debates between the council and Mayor Todd Gloria, San Diego has a new budget. The goal is to balance a deficit of $258 million dollars. This comes after council members voted 6-3 Monday to pass the final fiscal year 2025-26 budget. The six votes were enough to override several of Mayor Todd Gloria's line item vetoes. Those included maintaining current library and recreation centers hours and access to two city reservoirs.
