KOGO-AM (San Diego, CA)
KOGO (600 kHz), known as "Newsradio 600 KOGO," is a commercial AM talk radio station based in San Diego, California. It is one of seven radio stations in the area that are owned and operated by iHeartMedia. KOGO primarily focuses on delivering local news and features syndicated talk shows. With a powerful broadcast strength of 5,000 watts both day and night, its signal is among the strongest in the region. The station's studios are situated in the Kearny Mesa area of San Diego, on the northeast side. The signal typically extends along the coast from its transmitter in San Diego, providing good reception as far as Santa Barbara and beyond. Due to its broadcasting power, KOGO serves as a key Emergency Alert System station for the San Diego radio market. Additionally, it holds the distinction of being the first and only AM station in San Diego to transmit in HD Radio. The antennas for KWFN 97.3 and KLNV 106.5 are mounted on two separate towers.

Two years ago, during a Juneteenth event in San Diego, someone killed 20 year old Jonathan Shields-Pullum. Police still haven't been able to identify the suspect in that unsolved murder, and are asking the public for their help. Shields-Pullum was shot during a celebration at Liberty Station. He was taken to a hospital, and died from his injuries. A second person was shot in the leg, treated and released. Police say the motive for the shooting remains unknown.

Police say a 21 year old man in a corvette sped through a red light and smashed into a 32 year old woman in her Jeep late Wednesday night. The woman in the corvette died at the scene.
