Mrs. Denise Anne Palmer Garner, age 73 of Toccoa passed away Saturday May 24, 2025 at Piedmont Athens Regional Hospital. A daughter of the late Frances Clifford Palmer and Claire Anne Palmer, she was born June 3, 1951 in East Hampton Connecticut. She was a LPN for Mt. View and Toccoa Nursing Centers. She enjoyed crafting and sewing. She was preceded in death by two brothers John and Frankie Palmer and a sister Jean Palmer.

A daughter of the late Richard Russell “Dick” and Marion Sharpton Yow, she was born May 7, 1942 in Atlanta, Georgia. She was a member of Lavonia Presbyterian Church and Martin Baptist Church. She was a graduate and cheerleader at Stephens County High School. She later graduated from the University of Georgia where she was a cheerleader.

Shane Michael Pierce, age 41, of Toccoa, Georgia, entered into rest on Friday, May 16, 2025. Shane was born March 16, 1984 in Hall County to Ricky Pierce and the late Wanda Corpening Pierce. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his brother, Stephen Eugene Pierce; uncle, Kenneth Eugene Corpening; as well as all of his grandparents. Shane was a man of the outdoors and always had his loving dog, Pepper by his side.
