2 1/1 BIN strikes in Birmingham have left many people in Worcestershire wondering if the same thing could happen here. Union bosses said strikes could “absolutely” spread to other parts of the country if low-paid workers are made to pay for bad political decisions. But unions and councillors said the “unique” set of circumstances that led to Birmingham’s problems don’t apply to Worcestershire and there is no sign of strike action at the moment.

CAFE: The Pump House in Gheluvelt Park (Image: NewsQuest) PLANNERS have given permission for new signs to be installed on the Pump House in Gheluvelt Park. A cafe was given the go-ahead to open in the former waterworks building in February. It can now put up a sign with its name ‘Kyndfolk’ plus four hanging signs with words including ‘brunch’ and ‘coffee’.
