And almost as an afterthought, he would privatize the world’s biggest copper company — Codelco — and every other state-owned company in Chile for that matter.

For part of a self-professed dream team, the new CEO and chairman of Chile’s WOM are an odd couple with an odd history. One is gregarious, tattooed and in a T-shirt and jeans, the other is on message, has slicked-back hair and is smartly dressed. One says he gets bored if he stays anywhere too long, the other keeps stressing they are in it for the long haul. One is educated at Sheffield Polytechnic, the other at Colombia’s most prestigious university.
