ESC 23 - Late-Breaker host, Dr Harriette Van Spall (McMaster University, CA) is joined by Dr Mikhail Kosiborod (Saint Luke’s Mid America Heart Institute, US) to discuss the findings from the STEP HFpEF trial. Around half of patients with heart failure have heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF), and most patients with HFpEF are overweight or obese.

Recurrent myocardial infarction (MI) and new onset heart failure (HF) are major adverse complications in patients post-MI. Advances have been made for systems of care, coronary revascularization and drug therapy for the secondary prevention of myocardial infarction.
