Life challenges are unpredictable, here’s what to doI was in my 40s, a solo mum on a benefit. My children were getting older and I needed to go back to work. I’d completed a business studies course at a local Polytechnic. Buoyed by my success I decided University was my next step. I couldn’t wait to feel the buzz of being a ‘real student’. So on that Monday I was off to enroll in a Bachelor of Business Studies. An easy 200 km drive to Massey University.

Do the Suffering Know We Care? Today as I celebrate the beginning of a New Year I am reminded that my life is comfortable while others have to constantly battle adversity. Sometimes I despair at how little I can do for those whose lives are caught in wars, poverty, and injustice. Do they look and see me living my comfortable life and think I don’t care? The daily news media informs me of new and old sufferings. In my younger days I reached out and worked with the poorest of the poor.
