You would think after a game where the Los Angeles Kings allowed eight goals that the next time they step onto the ice tightening up defensively would be at the front of their minds. Well, that wasn’t the case as they failed to clean up their game in their own end resulting in a 6-2 blowout loss courtesy of the Toronto Maple Leafs. It was almost a repeat performance from their game in Ottawa although this time, they couldn’t put the puck in the back of the net nearly as much.

The LA Kings have announced their 2023 season-opening roster, which features 12 forwards, six defensemen and three goaltenders. As part of today’s transactions, forward Arthur Kaliyev and defenseman Jordan Spence have been loaned to the Ontario Reign, the Kings primary American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate. The Vancouver Cancucks enter this offseason hoping to re-tool their roster without significantly increasing the team's salary commititments. After another dissapoitning season that ended with no playoff games, changes will need to be made to make the postseason in the near future. Patrik Allvin and Jim Rutherford have made it clear, both through their words and through their actions, that this is not going to be a full tear down.
