Consistency has begun to form for the Los Angeles Kings as they have now picked up points in four straight games, delivering the Minnesota Wild their first regulation loss of the season at home with a 5-1 win on the road. To make it even more impressive, the Kings accomplished this on a back-to-back against a team that has been red hot to start the season. The Kings didn’t get off to the greatest start as the Wild came out with an extra bit of energy putting loads of pressure on the Kings early.

North Carolina has tremendously benefited from tax reforms begun over a decade ago. Energy efficiency mandates that began in the late 2000s and continued into the early 2010s created an energy cushion capable of absorbing the influx of new businesses and residents. If utilities fail to keep pace with growing electricity demand, however, then continued economic growth will inevitably crash into an energy supply wall. North Carolina’s unique geography has created an equally unique energy grid.

The Aug. 6 headline “Should B.C. cities rethink their shade priorities?” asks the wrong question. “Should B.C. cities rethink their tree priorities?” would be a much better one. When the sun’s rays strike an object, some of the energy (heat) is reflected and some is absorbed. If that object is above ground level, it casts a shadow over an area where this heat will not reach the ground.
