During the opening monologue from host Conan O’Brien at Sunday’s 97th Annual Academy Awards on ABC, comedian Adam Sandler had a wild cameo in street clothes, and actor John Lithgow made more than one appearance as part of the host’s hilarious and essentially politics-free remarks. O’Brien opened with jokes about the films that were nominated and some of the actors in the room, and even shared some early headshots, including his own.
