    The Government has announced that the NHS app will become the way it communicates with NHS patients across England - replacing traditional doctors' letters, phone calls and texts. Health Secretary Wes Streeting announced the plans to switch to a digital first system with almost all communication via the app. however there are concerns that many older people who don't have smarphones could lose out, although he said that they will be able to use traditional communication methods 'as a last resort.
