Interview by and . The other day, I (Aliza) was catching up with a friend, who’s newly single at 34. “Dating in my thirties feels completely different,” she told me. “My questions have changed from wanting to know where someone went to college to how they see the future — and that’s on date one!” It made me think about how the questions we ask potential partners evolve as we get older and our priorities shift.

Hi! How was your weekend? Aja and I finally turned months of “we should double date more” into reality on Saturday night, catching a movie with our respective Sams. (1/4 of us actually likedthe movie — but the laughs we had dissecting it afterward more than made up for the questionable plot.)We capped the night at a favorite Cambridge dive from my early twenties.

I can’t remember exactly how I came to find Alex Steele and her beautiful newsletter, —just that I can’t remember a time when her words weren’t something I looked forward to reading each week. I save her issues for moments when I have time to curl up with them, her links a feast for the senses, a treasure hunt for the soul. Alex is a mother of four based in Manhattan Beach, California. She’s also an artist, a film photographer, a writer.

Hi! How’s everyone doing? I (Aliza) have a big week ahead — with some intimidating personal stuff — but as I told my friend Suz, I’m *trying* to be kind to myself, sleep a lot, and do a few fun things, too. Speaking of fun… I’m so excited to introduce you to this week’s guest!platonic love is a newsletter by friends, for friends.

Hi there! It’s Aja. Aliza and I are heading into a whirlwind week — I’m in Dublin for work, she’s in New York for an offsite, and we’re reuniting in Cambridge on Friday for our sold-out (!!) Galentine’s event. A few of our out-of-state friends decided to come, too, so we’re going to have a big dinner and a brunch… and by Sunday night I already know I’m going to feel completely exhausted but also extremely grateful and happy and loved. Basically: I can’t wait.
