Plato’s Closet, a consignment store with locations across the Bay Area and North America, celebrated the grand reopening of its Pleasanton location last month after it shuttered last October. Marcie Webster, a local entrepreneur who took ownership of the store, told the Weekly that the Pleasanton location had been her favorite location and she was overwhelmed by the community’s positive energy following the store’s reopening on March 20.

The Pleasanton Planning Commission unanimously approved the Vesting Tentative Map for 27 single-family homes and a park to be built along Vineyard Avenue between Thiessen Street and Manoir Lane during its most recent meeting. Staff presented several ways the project had been updated in response to community feedback regarding traffic and public safety before the commissioners approved what they said was a satisfactory project design.

The Stable Cafe, a classic eatery that has been tucked away inside the Alameda County Fairgrounds for decades, has decided to remain open despite having lost a portion of its clientele due to the recent closure of the stables and horse racing at the site. Maria Juarez, a Walnut Creek resident and the current owner of the cafe, told the Weekly Monday that she plans on serving the community for as long as she can.

Pleasanton’s newest furry diplomat has officially embarked on his journey of becoming the city’s 2025 Ambassadog after being recognized during a proclamation reading at the March 18 City Council meeting. Jeter Ball, an 11-year-old mixed-breed dog, stood by his mom Bennett Ball who accepted the proclamation from the city and said she was thankful for the opportunity to represent her city and for Jeter having entered her life.
