To assess the diagnostic value for GCA in adding the axillary arteries (AX) to the temporal artery (TA) ultrasound, particularly in patients with a cranial phenotype of the disease; and to investigate the utility of facial (FA), occipital (OC), subclavian (SC), and common carotid (CC) ultrasound in patients with suspected GCA.

Background: In Portugal, it is mandatory to perform at least 6 gastrectomies during general surgery residency, within a wide list of procedures. Being aware of the high complexity of this surgical intervention, it is expected that residents find several obstacles along their training: from the low surgical opportunity, to the lack of standardized and progressive exposure.
