    The Union Cabinet has approved ₹37,216.15 crore subsidy under the nutrient-based subsidy scheme for fertilizers during the next kharif season, as against ₹24,474.53 crore allocated in 2024-25 rabi season. The rise is mainly on account of the hike in global rates of phosphatic fertilizers. The subsidy for nitrogen (N) will be ₹43.02/kg in kharif season 2025 starting April, which is the same as it was in the rabi season of 2024-25.
