Benzalkonium chloride (BAC), a widely utilized cationic surfactant and disinfectant, is classified within the family of quaternary ammonium compounds (QACs). The high solubility of BAC in water and stability in aqueous solutions render it an ideal candidate for the study of the Fenton reaction’s efficiency [1], [2]. Owing to its potent bactericidal properties, BAC is employed in high concentrations (≤80 %) for surface sterilization and hand disinfection.

To the Editor:The article by Baile-Maxía et al1 provides valuable insight into risk factors for the development of metachronous colorectal cancer (CRC) or advanced lesions after endoscopic serrated polypectomy. However, we would like to highlight some additional considerations for further discussion. First, the factors affecting endoscopic resection quality are ignored, including selection of surgical approach, patient compliance, and whether the polyps were initially identified.
