In recent years, May 6 has been very kind to Mizzou softball. Three years ago, the Tigers took down Montana Fouts and Alabama in eight innings. Two years ago, Kara Daly walked off Arkansas in the eighth inning with a solo home run, which she followed up with another walk-off solo blast the next day.

On Tuesday, Mizzou softball's season came to and end with a 1-0 loss to No. 17/19 Ole Miss in the first round of the SEC Tournament. At 25-32, the Tigers fell way short of the NCAA's required overall win percentage of at least 50 to be considered for the NCAA Tournament. It'll mark the first time since 2006 that MU won't make Regionals. The Tigers couldn't figure out Ole Miss starting pitcher Brianna Lopez all afternoon.

What a difference a year can make. Before the 2024 SEC Tournament, Mizzou softball was not only the No. 5 seed, but in strong contention for a top-10 overall seed in the NCAA Tournament. The Tigers made it all the way to the NCAA Tournament championship in Auburn, Alabama, defeating Ole Miss, Arkansas and LSU before falling to No. 2 Florida in the title game.

"D-Line 'Zou" added some depth over the weekend. Former Ohio defensive lineman Bralen Henderson, an incoming redshirt senior, has committed to the Missouri Tigers football program after a stint in the transfer portal. Henderson has one year of eligibility remaining. In four seasons with the Bobcats, Henderson tallied 51 total tackles, 4.5 tackles for loss and two sacks.
