    WATERFORD — After scoring five runs in the fourth inning, Corry's Major boys all-stars wound up falling to FLAG 13-6 in its district opener on Thursday night. FLAG was down 5-0 when it plated 10 runs on six hits off four pitchers in the fifth. Corry scored its runs as Reed Fuller drove in two with a base hit. Braylen Drayer drove him in making it 3-0. Fenton Fourspring tripled and scored for a 5-0 lead. Fuller started for Corry fanning seven in 3 1/3 scoreless innings.

    Clymer/Sherman junior pitcher Elli Bodamer, of Clymer, has been named to the New York state sportswriters and coaches fourth team as a Class D pitcher. She went 10-4 with an ERA of .78 with 135 strikeouts, 9.6 per game. At the plate, she batted .435, driving in 17 runs and scoring 10. She is playing in a national tourney this weekend in Amherst, N.Y.

    UNION CITY — Chalk up another championship for the Corry Junior girls softball team in District 3 -- making it four in a row. Corry was the visiting team and started off getting one run across but left the bases loaded. Union City threatened in the first inning with two runners reaching base, but they couldn't get past second. Both teams were kept scoreless in the second, but the tide turned in the top of the third. Corry plated four runs on back-to-back singles from Madi Leofsky and Mikayla Comitz.

    Corry's Minor girls were 12-2 winners over General McLane, and the Minor boys lost to FLAG 13-1 on Wednesday in Union City. The pitches were close for the boys. At top, Reed Fuller (3) avoids a low pitch. At center, Lane Deutsch ducks to avoid a high pitch in the second inning. At bottom, Cameron Cubero delivers a pitch for Corry.

    UNION CITY — Corry's girls Juniors won twice on Monday, first 15-6 over host Union City and then 18-3 over Northwestern in four innings in the late second contest. In the opener, Grace Cummings started, but was pulled in the second with two outs after struggling with control. Maci Kemp came in, finished off the game and earned the win with eight strikeouts. "Our hitters were led by Koda Kuzma going 4 for 4 with two singles and two doubles," said coach Karalee Kemp.
