    1 INTRODUCTION AND BACKGROUND The ambitions of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, adopted in 2015, are laid out in 17 goals called the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The SDGs take a holistic approach to health and well-being and provide a roadmap for reducing poverty and inequality by promoting global partnerships. Among these goals are the right to education, health, and the pursuit of economic growth, while also aiming to tackle the climate crisis (United Nations, 2022).

This spurs trenchant questions about methodologies and the boundaries of the Amazigh space itself. Despite its depth and the breadth, Amazigh Studies is still at pains to find its place in Anglophone academia. Anglophone academia continues to approach the Tamazgha through the lens of Middle Eastern and Francophone Studies.
