Fulton County Animal Services is calling on residents to help save the lives of shelter animals by volunteering as foster caregivers. With more animals in temporary foster homes than in the shelter itself, fostering has become a critical part of the county’s effort to prevent euthanasia due to overcrowding and ensure compliance with health standards. The program, operated by LifeLine Animal Project, currently has close to 500 dogs and more than 200 cats in foster homes.

Fulton County homeowners can now check their 2025 property tax assessments online at fultonassessor.org. Notices have also been mailed to property owners. As required by Georgia law, the tax assessors’ office issues an annual notice of assessment for every property, which must reflect fair market value. The county is asking that property owners carefully review their notice as soon as possible.

Preschoolers at Primrose schools across metro Atlanta recently raised $14,000 through their annual Spring Fling fundraiser, with proceeds benefiting the Children’s Heart Foundation and Kids Shop Charity. This year’s effort carried special meaning for families at the Primrose School of Kennesaw North, where a portion of the funds was donated in memory of Hadley Grace McPhail. Hadley was born in October 2021 with a critical heart defect and passed away shortly after birth.

Union City is inviting residents to help design a new playground coming to the Eagles Nest Sports Complex. On Tuesday, July 8, the city will host a two-part Design Day event at The Gathering Place Community Center, 6280 Bryant Street. The kids’ design workshop will run from 2 to 3 p.m., giving children a chance to draw their dream play spaces. Their ideas will serve as inspiration for the final design.
