Question:My husband's stepfather, whom we have only been in contact with for the last three years, was living with my husband and myself for a few months until he needed to go into a nursing home in February. We are applying for Medicaid. His biological children took a great deal of money from him over the years, including during the look-back period. Also, my father-in-law invested money into a business my husband and I were starting. This too, was during the look-back period.

My ex-husband is cognitively impaired. He has been scammed by numerous online accounts that he considers his "girlfriends." He thinks that I am going to stick around and be his caregiver while he attempts to bring his "girlfriends" into my apartment. Yes, we live in the same space. I'm trying to get him his own apartment, but he literally has no savings - none. And I’ve spent mine trying to provide for his medical needs. In Arizona, would he be able to get assisted living with Medicaid?

Centra Health officials said Tuesday they have “significant capacity” to handle a potential influx of patients with COVID-19, the disease caused by the novel coronavirus, as the pandemic grows.
