Global markets have rebounded to a record high on the changing whims of the US President, who's made a stunning reversal of his decision to tariff US trading partners. Wall St closed sharply higher - the tech index-  the Nasdaq gained a whopping 12 per cent during the day's trade. Donald Trump's backflip places a 90 day pause on tariffs for most of the countries on his so-called "liberation day" list, but he's keeping the pressure on Beijing - China now faces tariffs of 125 per cent.

Donald Trump's next round of tariffs have come into effect this afternoon. Australian exports to the US continue to face a 10 per cent tariff, while Chinese goods will now face levies of at least 104 per cent. The US President claims the US treasury will collect $2 billion a day in extra revenue from the tariffs.
