Vice-President Kashim Shettima on Friday flagged off the inaugural airlift of pilgrims from Nigeria to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for the 2025 hajj. A statement issued on Friday by Stanley Nkwocha, the media aide to the vice-president, said the inaugural airlift of the pilgrims took place at the Sam Mbakwe International Cargo Airport, Owerri, Imo state. The airlift also marked the airport’s first international departure.
