Keep the champagne on ice. For the first time in this World Series, the Dodgers suffered defeat, falling to the New York Yankees 11-4 in Game 4 Tuesday night. L.A.’s lead in the series is now 3-1. It got ugly late, as the Yankees scored five runs in the bottom of the 8th. However, it was clear early on the approach that Dave Roberts and the Dodgers were going to take in Game 4.

There’s an old saying: defense wins championships. If that’s the case, the gold glove-caliber defense of the Dodgers has the squad one game closer to clinching its first World Series since 2020 after taking Game 3 against the New York Yankees, 4-2. Walker Buehler stood on business, setting the tone as he once again showed why he’s considered to be a big game pitcher tossing five scoreless innings, allowing just two hits and striking out five.

LOS ANGELES – Game 1 of the World Series will have a SoCal feel. Not just because it will be played at Dodger Stadium, but both starting pitchers have area ties. Studio City Harvard-Westlake School alum Jack Flaherty will toe the rubber for the Dodgers and his counterpart for the Yankees will be Orange Lutheran High School alum Gerrit Cole. Both were first-round picks coming out of high school.

The Los Angeles Dodgers’ major trade-deadline acquisition from this summer is already worth it. Jack Flaherty was the star of the show in Game 1 of the NLCS between L.A. and the New York Mets, as he pitched an electric seven shutout innings while giving up just two hits in a 9-0 win. The start, which helped the Dodgers take the first game of the best-of-seven series, was made all the more special by sharing it with a person in the stands.
