On average, 43 people are arriving at the PHQ daily with unresolved complaints.

Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Less than 1% of applications for the reimbursement of college fees for police personnel’s children pursuing higher studies have reached the Police Headquarters (PHQ), as field officers have shown little interest in forwarding the applications from their units, said officials on Friday. According to rough estimates, around 6,000 children of police personnel across the state are enrolled in higher education.

Accordingly, police have taken action against them in the state. In 2024, maximum numbers of cases were registered against liquor mafias followed by sand mafias.

These apprehensions were shared during a recent committee meeting held at the police headquarters, according to officials. In light of drone attacks on gas pipelines reported in other countries, the officials of the gas companies expressed concern over a similar threat in India.

NEW DELHI: After more than 12 hours of debate, the Rajya Sabha passed the contentious Waqf (Amendment) Bill, 2025, early on Friday morning with 128 votes in favor and 98 against. The discussions, which began around 2 p.m. on Thursday, continued into the early hours of Friday, culminating in the vote. The Lok Sabha had already approved the Bill following a similarly prolonged debate on Thursday morning.
