Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): For past one year, the police have been focusing on six types of crimes in the state, which are liquor mafia, land mafia, sand mafia, ration-food black marketing mafia, chit fund companies and adulteration mafia. Accordingly, police have taken action against them in the state. In 2024, maximum numbers of cases were registered against liquor mafias followed by sand mafias.

Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): The Onshore Security Coordination Committee (OSCC) has raised concerns about a possible drone attack threat targeting gas pipelines and pump stations across 27 districts of the state. These apprehensions were shared during a recent committee meeting held at the police headquarters, according to officials. In light of drone attacks on gas pipelines reported in other countries, the officials of the gas companies expressed concern over a similar threat in India.

NEW DELHI: After more than 12 hours of debate, the Rajya Sabha passed the contentious Waqf (Amendment) Bill, 2025, early on Friday morning with 128 votes in favor and 98 against. The discussions, which began around 2 p.m. on Thursday, continued into the early hours of Friday, culminating in the vote. The Lok Sabha had already approved the Bill following a similarly prolonged debate on Thursday morning.

Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): The PHQ has served show cause notices on 60 police personnel for withdrawing their medical bills reimbursement more than once. The scam may exceed Rs 4 crore after the submission of the replies, said officials here on Thursday. Earlier in January this year, the PHQ accounts department uncovered irregularities related to cops’ medical bill claims. Following an internal inquiry, the PHQ suspended three officers and formed a five-member SIT to look into the anomalies.

Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): The much-awaited e-office at the police headquarters here (PHQ), which was to start functioning this March 15, may take more than a month to be up and running, if sources are to be believed. It must be noted that on January 1, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav inaugurated the e-office system at the Mantralaya. Meanwhile, on March 3, the DGP even reviewed the progress at the PHQ, instructing the officials to start the system on March 15.
