Armed robbery suspects arrested in Aiken County

AIKEN, S.C. (WJBF) – Two people have been arrested in connection to an armed robbery that took place Sunday at an Aiken Dollar General, according to the Aiken County Sheriff’s Office. Police state that deputies responded to 2822 Edgefield Highway on April 20, shortly before 7 p.m. for a reported armed robbery and stolen vehicle call. Upon arrival, the victim reported being robbed at gunpoint and said that the suspects stole his vehicle.

Inmate found unresponsive in Washington County Jail

WASHINGTON COUNTY, Ga. (WJBF) – An inmate was found unresponsive in his cell at the Washington County Jail at approximately 7:17 a.m. on June 25, according to a statement that was released from Sheriff Joel Cochran. Emergency crews responded to the scene where the inmate was pronounced deceased. The inmate, who has not yet been named, was reportedly received from the Walton County Sheriff’s Office for housing June 14.
