You are not going to find a carpenter in an Armani suit with Allen Edmonds shoes and a Rolex going to Lowes, Home Depot or Menards to buy a claw hammer to do this work. Even if someone did, he would not know what weight of hammer was needed for different jobs.

· BUFORD CITY SCHOOLS has taken its tried-and-true path to pick its next school superintendent: it has promoted again from within its staff. Dr. Amy Chafin, currently the deputy superintendent, will become its Buford City School superintendent at the end of this school year. She will replace Melanie Reed, who will retire in May after 31 years with that school system.

Packaging those drugs in the manufacturing process adds to the price. Marketing is where costs really get out of hand. You could have a medication that would cure all diseases and other problems that you would ever think of, but the drug has to get in front of the potential users.

The same is true of the local television news shows, both the Atlanta news and the evening news from any affiliate like CBS, NBC, ABC or FOX. If you want that news, you will have to hunt for it.

Today there are two calls on specific topics that are of interest to me. First, I must get between four and six calls a day to talk about my new Social Security benefits, each asking if I have my new card. These calls are all from India and that is easiest enough to spot if you know the signs.

YEARS AGO, MANY PEOPLE would sleep under hand-stitched quilts, in a variety of home made patterns. This quilt, still warm for sleeping, was made by Effie Collins Brack (GwinnettForum publisher’s mother). Every piece of decorative cloth was painstakingly cut, assembled and stitched by hand. By Raleigh PerryBUFORD, Ga. | Is December 25th really the birthday of Jesus Christ? Probably not. There is nothing in the Scriptures concerning the actual birthday of Jesus Christ. The birth came well before December 25th became the “data” of Christ’s birthday. It may seem a bit strange to you and might really cause you to call me absolutely wrong. If you read about the birth of Christ in the book in Luke 2:8-12, it states that the shepherds were in the fields with their flocks.
