BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - Mike VII is back outside enjoying his habitat on LSU’s campus after being kept inside while he recovered from anesthesia. According to the LSU School of Veterinary Medicine, a team performed a routine dental cleaning and exam of Mike VII over the weekend. The live tiger mascot received the services in his night house on LSU’s campus in Baton Rouge. An ophthalmologist also examined Mike’s eyes, and doctors drew blood for analysis, according to the vet school.

PRAIRIEVILLE - Troopers with the Louisiana State Police are investigating after they say a wrong-way driver was killed in a head-on crash on the interstate in Ascension Parish. Officials identified the victim as James Burns, 39, of Amite. The two-vehicle crash happened shortly before 1:30 a.m. on Friday, April 4, on Interstate 10 East between the Highland Road and Prairieville exit near the parish line.
