    A Chief Magistrate Court sitting in Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State, has ordered the remand of one Elijah Innocent (24) at the correctional custody over an alleged case of rape in Ado-Ekiti. The prosecutor, Inspector Akinwale Oriyomi, informed the court that the defendant was suspected to have committed the offence against a 19-year-old girl punishable under Section 265(1) of the Criminal Law of Ekiti State, 2021.

    Ekiti State Police Command has arraigned a 33-year-old man, Fatai Yisa, at the Chief Magistrate Court in Ado-Ekiti over an alleged stealing. The prosecutor, Inspector Akinwale Oriyomi, told the court that the defendants, being one of the sales boys in a factory between January to June 10, 2025, allegedly stole 1,570 bags of pure water. Inspector Oriyomi puts the value of the stolen water at N549,500.

The prosecutor, Inspector Akinwale Oriyomi, informed the court that the defendants, James Sunday (33), Ponzin Raman (39) and Simon Peter (43), were reasonably suspected to have committed the offence of conspiracy, armed robbery and murder of one Ganiyi Afolayan.

    A lady (name withheld) slumped and died inside a hotel along the NTA Road in Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State. Sources said she slumped in the bathroom. She was reportedly confirmed shortly after she was rushed to the hospital.     The Ekiti State police command have arraigned five persons at the Chief Magistrate Court in Ado-Ekiti over alleged conspiracy and assault. The defendants are Onileowo Kayode (63), Olubunmi Akinyemi (57), Samuel Asoore, (65), Karimu Raji (55) and Tope Amogbon (54). The prosecutor, Inspector Akinwale Oriyomi, said the defendants and others, now at large, on or about April 24 at Odo-Ekiti assaulted one Abass Wada and Israel Wada by causing severe harm to them.
