    The police in Ekiti State have arraigned a 40-year-old man, Olarewaju Mustapha, at the Chief Magistrate Court sitting in Ado-Ekiti over stealing.  The prosecutor, Inspector Akinwale Oriyomi, told the court that the defendants and others, now at large, on May 5 at about 10 pm at Ipole-Iloro-Ekiti, conspired to steal five goats, valued at N600,000. Inspector Oriyomi said the offence was punishable under Section 421, 302(1)(a) and (c) of the Criminal Law of Ekiti State, 2021.

    An Ekiti State High Court sitting in Ado Ekiti has sentenced a 26-year-old David Isaiah to death by hanging for killing a sex worker. The convict was charged with a three-count charge of conspiracy, kidnapping and murder, the offences he allegedly committed on April 18, 2024. The prosecutor, Ibironke Odetola, told the court that the offences are contrary to Sections 280, 279 (a) and 234 of the Criminal Law of Ekiti State, 2021.

    A High Court sitting in Ado-Ekiti has sentenced five men to death by hanging for conspiracy, armed robbery and murder. The convicted individuals-Ojo Tope, Damilola Christopher, Joshua Adegoke, Aderopo Temitope and Oyedele Oluwatobi-were also handed a 21-year prison term each for conspiracy. Delivering judgment, Justice O. O. Olatawura ruled that the prosecution had proven the charges of armed robbery, murder and conspiracy beyond reasonable doubt.

    The Ekiti State police command has declared one Emmanuel Otitoju (27) missing. Police spokesman in the state, SP Sunday Abutu, said Otitoju, a student of Government Technical College in Ado-Ekiti, left home on March 23 around 10am and had not returned. Abutu added that Otitoju, is 5.5 ft tall, dark in complexion and speaks Yoruba fluently, without tribal marks.
