The Ekiti State Police Command has taken into custody a police officer who was alleged by a woman to have stabbed her father on the palm of his hand. The command’s spokesman, SP Sunday Abutu, said the command noticed a video circulating on social media where a young girl (name unknown) was complaining that her father was stabbed on his palm by a policeman serving in Ise-Ekiti due to an argument that ensued between her brother and the policeman’s girlfriend.

An Ekiti State High Court sitting in Ado Ekiti has sentenced a 33-year-old Oluwatuyi Bidemi to 84 years imprisonment for robbery, attempted murder, kidnapping and rape. The prosecutor, Oluwaseun Olasanmi, said convict on July 7, 2021, at Omuo-Ekiti, attempted to murder one Abiodun Agnes and also rob her of a phone, charger, wristwatch, ATM cards and others, on same date and place, and did kidnap and raped the victim.

The Ekiti State High Court has sentenced one Olasunkanmi Kareem to life in prison for attempted murder. The convict, a 41-year- old, was arraigned on November 18, 2024 on a one count charge of attempted murder, contrary to Section 241 of the criminal law of Ekiti State, 2021. The prosecutor, Kunle-Shina Adeyemo, said the defendant on August 11, 2024 at Ifaki Ekiti, attempted to murder one Omoboriwo Bashiru by setting him ablaze.
