MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A bystander’s car was hit by a Memphis Police squad car during a pursuit on Saturday, police confirmed. At 12:16 p.m., in the 2800 block of Perkins, preliminary information indicates officers were pursuing a vehicle, and during the pursuit, the MPD squad car was involved in a crash with a vehicle unrelated to the incident. In a video obtained by WREG, smoke could be seen coming from the squad car. A black car with damage to the front side can be seen as well.

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A 12-year-old girl was taken to Le Bonheur after her sister mistakenly shot her in the foot, Memphis Police confirmed. On Friday at 5:03 p.m., officers responded to an accidental injury in the 1500 block of Lightwood Cove. They were told that a girl accidentally shot her sister in the foot. Officers saw the 12-year-old victim sitting on the curb with a gunshot wound to her left foot.

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — In the next couple of months, xAI will begin demobilizing and removing some of its natural gas turbines, the Greater Memphis Chamber announced. On May 1, 2025, xAI reached full operational capability for Phase I of the two-phase operation at the former Electrolux site. xAI was connected to a newly constructed electric substation from which it is now receiving 150MW of grid power from MLGW and TVA.

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Memphis Police are asking the public for help to find a man accused of stabbing someone during an argument. On April 26 at 9:50 p.m., officers responded to an aggravated assault at the Parkway Saver Stop located at 3 South Parkway. The victim said he was involved in a verbal argument with a man who pulled out “an unknown edged weapon.” The suspect then allegedly stabbed the victim several times, police said. Memphis Police released photos of stabbing suspect.
