The station is part of Tribune Broadcasting, a subsidiary of Tribune Media Company. WREG's studios are situated at Channel 3 Drive, close to the Mississippi River and near I-55 on Memphis' west side. Its transmitter can be found about 5 miles (8.0 km) southeast of Bartlett, positioned between I-40 and Whitten Road.

    MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A lawsuit was filed Monday on behalf of Memphis Shelby County Schools against PowerSchool, a K-12 software provider the school district was using, after a data breach leaked “highly sensitive” student information. In December 2024, hackers stole student and teacher data from PowerSchool, the company confirms. PowerSchool says it became aware of the breach Dec. 28. School districts were not notified of the breach until nearly two weeks later, according to the lawsuit.

    MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A man pulled a gun on a customer during a fight Sunday night at J. Alexander’s restaurant in the Wolfchase area, according to Memphis Police. The MPD is searching for two suspects accused of threatening and assaulting customers on Mother’s Day at the restaurant on North Germantown Parkway. Police say the altercation broke out around 6:30 p.m. when the ex-boyfriend of a victim’s daughter approached her at the restaurant, holding a gun to his side where everyone could see it.

    MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Coldwater, Mississippi, police are searching for a suspect involved in a shooting that left multiple people injured. Police say three people were shot in Coldwater on Sunday. Coldwater Police did not release information on the victims’ conditions. Police say two people are in custody, but one man is still wanted. Coldwater Police have identified the suspect as Bryan Polk. Coldwater Police say Polk is armed and dangerous.

    MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A bystander’s car was hit by a Memphis Police squad car during a pursuit on Saturday, police confirmed. At 12:16 p.m., in the 2800 block of Perkins, preliminary information indicates officers were pursuing a vehicle, and during the pursuit, the MPD squad car was involved in a crash with a vehicle unrelated to the incident. In a video obtained by WREG, smoke could be seen coming from the squad car. A black car with damage to the front side can be seen as well.

    HORRY COUNTY, S.C. (WBTW) — A 52-year-old man was found dead inside a wallaby and kangaroo enclosure with “multiple blunt force injuries,” at a Highway 746 farm just outside of Loris, Horry County police said. Eric Slate was discovered in the facility just before midnight. Authorities said an autopsy is planned as officers continue to investigate. A News13 crew on Saturday attempted to speak with Eric’s brother Robert, owner of 5-Star Farm, who declined to comment.
