TYLER, Texas — A popular radio show is off the airwaves in East Texas. Big D & Bubba is no longer heard in the Pineywoods after their contract with Alpha Media ended a few weeks ago, according to Alpha Media operations manager Brandon Michael. The show had been a morning staple on 104.1 The Ranch for the last four years, But, as of Monday, the station has switched to a 24/7-classic country model, Michael said.

TATUM, Texas — A familiar face and Rusk County legend is set to take over the reins of the Tatum boys basketball program. Tatum ISD athletic director Whitney Keeling announced Tuesday assistant coach Jayme Bradley is positioned to lead the Eagles pending board approval. Bradley was a standout hooper for Tatum from 2000-2003 leading to his jersey being retired in January 2024. During his senior season, while wearing that No. 5 jersey, he hit 171 3-pointers .

CHEROKEE COUNTY, Texas — An elderly East Texas woman is dead following a Monday evening house fire. According to Cherokee County Sheriff Brent Dickson, around 8 p.m., crews responded to a fire in the 5000 block of FM 347, in the Gallatin area, on reports of a person inside a burning house. Sheriff Dickson says a 78-year-old woman was killed in the blaze and her body was found after officials extinguished the fire.

BULLARD, Texas — The National Weather Service has confirmed a second tornado touched down in East Texas on Tuesday. In addition to an EF-0 twister that hit Anderson County, an EF-1 was confirmed in Bullard. "This low-end EF-1 tornado with peak winds around 90 mph started in a rural area west of Bullard, Texas, in an open field justeast of County Road 173 and gradually grew in size and strength as it continued just south of due east into the north side of Bullard," the NWS said.
