Australian companies are using artificial intelligence to neutralise the accents of overseas call centre representatives, 2GB has confirmed. The technology, developed by US tech start-up Sanas, is being used by call centres to modify accents in real-time to improve communication and minimise complaints. 2GB has confirmed the technology is now being rolled out in Australia after being used in the UK and USA for several months.

The charge comes amid an investigation into a series of alleged indecent exposures at a shopping centre in Pimlico on Saturday. Police are appealing for information about a man they say exposed himself to several children at a number of businesses in Castletown Shopping Centre. The 24-year-old will appear in court in Townsville today.

A man has been arrested over the suspicious death of a four-week-old baby in south-western New South Wales in 2023. Detectives were notified after the baby was taken to Wagga Wagga Base Hospital on July 27, 2023 in a critical condition. The baby was suffering "a number of unexplained serious physical injuries", according to police, and was transferred to Sydney Children's Hospital, where he died three days later.

A woman has been charged with manslaughter over the death of a baby boy in Brisbane last year.Emergency services were called to a home on Ashridge Road in Darra on April 3, 2024, to reports an 11-month-old infant was unconscious and not breathing. The baby was later declared dead at the scene. A police investigation, Operation Whiskey Nocturne, has been under way since.Detectives today charged a 63-year-old Darra woman with manslaughter.

Police have charged 24 people in a two-day blitz targeting knife-crime on public transport across Sydney. Officers seized eight knives and found 12 lots of drugs. A further 61 transport fines were issued. A woman in her 50s has been airlifted to hospital after suffering serious leg injuries in a workplace incident at a factory in Hastings, Victoria. Paramedics were called to the BlueScope facility at 10.20am and called an air ambulance to the scene. A Country Fire Authority spokesperson confirmed an industrial accident had occurred but did not have further details. BlueScope operates a painted, coated and uncoated steel processing facility at Hastings on Western Port Bay.
