    MADISON, Wis. (WKOW) - One person was killed after a multi-vehicle crash that happened in the westbound lanes of WIS 30 early Friday morning. The crash was reported at 3:56 a.m.Madison firefighters and paramedics arrived about five minutes later to find three vehicles involved in the crash and one person pinned inside of a vehicle, according to spokesperson Cynthia Schuster. Additional Madison Fire Department resources were sent to the scene to assist with freeing the pinned person.

    MADISON, Wis. (WKOW) -- The Madison Police Department is on the scene of a multi-vehicle crash in the westbound lanes of WIS 30. An officer said the crash, involving three cars, happened around 4 a.m. at WIS 30 and US 51. Officials told 27 News that injuries were reported, though the extent remains unclear.     MADISON, Wis. (WKOW) -- Madison Water Utility officials are reminding residents to take steps now to prevent pipes from freezing and bursting this winter. In a news release, the utility recommended disconnecting garden hoses, insulating basements, and clearing snow from fire hydrants near homes. "If a hydrant is lost or buried in snow, firefighters can lose valuable time trying to locate it when they first arrive at a fire," the release said.

The county's emergency management office issued an alert at 7:50 a.m., saying the crash happened at Highway 23 and Merry Christmas Lane. Drivers are urged to avoid the area and use alternate routes.     ROCK COUNTY, Wis. (WKOW) -- A vehicle fire caused major delays on I-39 in Rock County overnight. The fire was first reported around 11 p.m. Tuesday on I-39 southbound, just south of Newville near the WIS 59 exit. A sergeant with the Wisconsin State Patrol told 27 News the incident involved two semi-trucks. No injuries were reported. One of the trucks was fully burned, and crews took more than six hours to clear the scene as they unloaded its cargo. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
