So I know a lot of us are gearing up for summer. When I was a kid, that meant spending almost every afternoon at Liberty Pool. Well, it proably wasn't every afternoon. But it was a hangout spot. Kids would be all over the place, and the Moms would suntan around the kiddie pool. I know I went enough to the pool one summer that my hair lightened up to a level of blonde. Anyway. As that's happening, there is something you need to know to avoid. Or know to ignore. It's not a bad thing. Well. It's just Timmy.

Guys, I know one of my favorite "work related" things to do is to compare misheard lyrics or funny lyrics to songs we know and love. How many times have you sang along with a song, using the wrong lyrics? Sometimes you do it on purpose, right? I mean, everyone has sang, "Hold me Closer, Tony Danza" at least once. Or the most famous, "Excuse me, while I kiss this guy". You get it. Well, the British newspaper The Independent put out a list of what they're calling "Embarrassing" lyrics.

Gentle Reader, I admit I coming at this topic biased. I absolutely care about this because it's in my yard, but maybe you care, too. I was at work today, minding my own business, you know. I get at text from my father with this picture. Apparently the City is tearing the hell out of the sidewalk in front of the house. Which.... is fine? It's something that needed to be done for a long time.

Well, okay, maybe this should be just ME calming down. You've seen all sorts of new food trucks here in Sedalia and the surrounding areas. They're great and a lot of them are very convenient. But let me tell you of the first food truck I regularly frequented. It was a dark time. I was working somewhere that wasn't here at the stations, and while I was trying my best, I just wasn't very good. Try as I might, I just wasn't cutting the mustard.

A Royal KC Draft Horse Show is scheduled for May 22-24 at the American Royal Complex in Kansas City. And it's going to be huge - which is an appropriate adjective to use to describe the show and the horses. The best part is, you can go for free!First Day Of The Great Yorkshire ShowIf you're asking, you must not work on a farm, ha! To make a very complicated thing very simple, a draft horse are the big ones. Think Belgians, Percherons, Clydesdales. They're all different kinds of draft horses.

Alright guys, here we are with another test, to see if the ideas of a big potato chip company translate into stuff you'll actually want to see on your table. Or, you know, the snack cabinet. Maybe you don't have a cabinet dedicated to snacks, but in my house, we do. Anyway, this year, the flavors aren't as crazy as they have been in years past. In fact, I wondered if they were deliberately picking flavors that they KNEW no one would vote for, just for attention.

Guys, I don't mind being the resident "tester" of stuff here at the stations. Particularly when it comes to allergy season. I even wrote about it a while ago. This year is quite possibly the worst year for Missouri allergies in decades. And while I do the stuff you're supposed to, I still deal with almost constant sneezing, a running nose, you name it. Like if I'm inside, it still gets to me. While I can clean and keep my areas dust free at work, it doesn't stop it 100% for me.

I'll admit it, Gentle Reader. I'm a nerd. I like popcorn, cats, videos of people cooking, K-Pop, and that's about it. Well. There's more to it than that, but you know what I'm saying. It's not too difficult to please me, in my opinion. So of course, me being a nerd, I attracted a fellow nerd. NJ is also a big time nerd and it's adorable. I'm sure a lot of you are very similar.

It's Cinco de Mayo, which, if you're like me and haven't taken elementary school Spanish, translates to "Fifth of May."You've heard of it, but do you know what it celebrates? Probably not. Well, no. Cinco de Mayo actually commemorates the Mexican victory over the French at the Battle of Puebla, which took place on May 5th, 1862 . . . 163 years ago. The battle itself was not a major strategic win, and the French took control of Mexico two years later . . .
