Last Friday, April 11, the MacRostie Art Center held an opening reception for its newest exhibition, Expressions, which features mixed media artwork by youth in the residential treatment programs of North Homes Children and Family Services. Last week on March 18, at the State Capitol, the Committee on Education Finance brought up Education Finance Bill SF 1404: Prohibition on American Indian mascots. At the meeting, local school board member and Treasurer, Dave Cowan, testified for the Grand Rapids Thunderhawks.
