Thousands to gather for county-wide clean-up in Limerick

This Friday, thousands of volunteers are coming together for a one-day, county-wide clean-up in Limerick. It is part of Team Limerick Clean-Up (TLC), which is celebrating its tenth year. Over 500 tonnes of litter have been collected by the group over the years, as it takes action to keep Limerick clean and tidy. TLC was founded in 2015, the brainchild of Helen O'Donnell, Paul O’Connell and JP McManus. "We wanted something special. Something that would be good for the environment.

Though it was a long night, the accuracy of the first count in Thurles filled 20 of the 40 available seats on Tipperary County Council. The count adjourned in the early hours of Sunday morning and resumed at 10:10am, after a few hours of respite for the counters, candidates, staff and reporters. The various counts were announced over the course of the day on Sunday, with the final councillor for Tipperary County Council being announced at 8:20pm, and with that, the count was complete.
