A female motorcyclist has been rushed to hospital following a crash in Wexford town this afternoon. The incident took place at around 3 p.m. on the Clonard Road near the entrance of Cluain Dara and saw a collision between the motorbike, headed town and a van that appeared to be turning into the housing estate. Gardaí, the Fire Service and the National Ambulance Service all rushed to the scene and the motorcyclist was eventually rushed the short distance to Wexford General Hospital.

Gardaí rolled out some tech as they conducted a major checkpoint in Wexford town on Tuesday morning. As they set up on Davitt Road North, they put the camera of their Garda Mobility Device in place to utilise Automatic Number Plate Recognition. The technology was officially formally launched last year with the specific goal of identifying uninsured vehicles. During the course of the operation on the one-way street, two separate cars were identified as having no insurance.
