SACRAMENTO, Calif. — Reyte Rash and John Clifford each qualified to move on to the quarterfinals of their respective events Wednesday at the NCAA West Prelims in Sacramento. Rash finished third in the first heat of the men's 400m hurdles to automatically qualify for the quarterfinal round, running a school-record time of 50.76. The senior from Riverside bested his own school-record of 50.95 set two weeks ago at The Big West Championships. Rash finished 14th overall after all six heats had been run.

BIG WEST RELEASEIRVINE, Calif. — Reyte Rash has been named The Big West Men's Track Athlete of the Week, the conference announced Tuesday. Rash raced to the fastest 400m hurdles time in the NCAA so far this season by almost a full second at the Titans' season-opening home Ben Brown Invite. He clocked a personal-best time of 51.41 seconds to win the event. Rash was one of five Titans to record individual event wins at the meet.
