    By Rich Tarpening Palm Springs Fire Department is currently working a small fire on the side of the mountain near Ramon Road and La Mirada Rd. The fire sparked up just before 5:30pm Sunday. We are monitoring the fire and will provide updates when we get them.

    MECCA, Calif.- One person has been airlifted to a local hospital in critical condition after a driver reportedly crashed into a concrete culvert in Mecca. Cal Fire reported the crash just before 11:30am Friday morning at Avenue 66 and Dale Kiler Road. According to officials only one car was involved. A second person was also transported to a local hospital by ambulance with moderate injuries. California Highway Patrol is currently investigating the cause of the crash.

    INDIO Calif. (KESQ)- At least one person was shot Thursday night in Indio confirms the Riverside County Sheriff's Department Friday morning. According to the Sheriff's Department at 10:45 p.m., deputies were requested by the Indio Police Department to respond to the area of Monroe Street and Avenue 52 regarding a man with injuries consistent with a gunshot wound. The man was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

    A two car collision in Rancho Mirage Friday morning caused some traffic issues. Just before 10am, police responded to an accident involving two vehicles at the corner of Ramon Road and Los Alamos Road. Several law enforcement officers and emergency crews are on scene. There appears to be at several people injured, but the extent of their injuries are unknown at this time. Eastbound traffic on Ramon Road is currently being diverted and drivers are encouraged to avoid the intersection at this time.

    RANCHO MIRAGE, Calif. (KESQ) - A two car collision in Rancho Mirage Friday morning caused some traffic issues and sent three people to the hospital. Just before 10 a.m., police responded to an accident involving two vehicles at the corner of Ramon Road and Los Alamos Road. According to the Riverside County Sheriff's Department, officers arrived on scene and located three patients in critical condition. All were transported to local hospitals. The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
