Jarvis Anthony David Henricks stole a $39,000 bracelet from a store at Sunshine Plaza in Maroochydore on 29 July. As reported by the Courier Mail, police prosecutor Mel Pyke told the court the 18-year-old assessed the jewellery store by sending videos and photos of its layout before asking to inspect the piece. He viewed the piece twice before snatching the bracelet and sprinting from the store, entering an Uber waiting nearby; however, he was intercepted by police a short time later.

Pieces of a necklace and bracelet were unearthed in 1870 at a burial site near Dundee. Now, National Museums Scotland conservators have combined the original pieces with recreations. The pieces are now available for viewing at Dundee's McManus Art Gallery and Museum. Vergemont Station, located 140 kilometres west of Longreach, has been acquired in a joint purchase by the Queensland government and the Nature Conservancy. The purchase was reportedly finalised after an anonymous donation of $21 million. The 352,000-ha property has been for sale since 2016. Two neighbouring stations - Tonkoro (138,200ha) and Melrose (73,048ha) - were recently purchased by the state government and added to existing national parks.
